SOPEP offers two distinct types of memberships -

• Individual Life Member

• Corporate Member

Memberships are invited from the Public, individual as well as corporate, for this ‘Not for Profit’ Society. General Guidelines for membership are as follows:

• Any professional body, organization or individual associated with Power and Energy in any Industry or Institution is eligible for membership

• ‘Significant Energy users’ such as Oil, Gas, Power, Chemicals, Petrochemicals, Steel, Metals, Mining and Process Industry professionals

• Professionals associated with ‘Energy Conservation’ & ‘Energy Efficiency’

Also please note:

• All applications for membership should be made on the Society’s application form and should be forwarded with the appropriate remittance to the Society’s Registered Office.

• Membership is non-transferrable

• Managing Council of SOPEP has every right to accept or reject the membership

INDIVIDUAL LIFE MEMBER
Any person, who is above 18 years and shall be willing to join the organisation and who shall subscribe to the objects of the organisation, shall apply for membership in writing along with the life membership fee. The application shall be considered and approved by the Managing Committee within one month from the date of receipt. The power to accept or reject the application shall vest with the Managing Committee.

 

CORPORATE MEMBERS
Corporate Business organization and Industrial Houses can become a member. They need to fill up the appropriate application form along with the Annual Corporate Membership fee. The organizations applying for such membership need to nominate a Principle Nominee and an Alternate Nominee as their representatives. The Principle Nominee shall have the right to attend General body Meeting, will have full voting right for all proceedings and can become Managing Council member. Principle Nominee, during his/her absence, may empower the Alternate Nominee to work on his behalf.

The prescribed period for Corporate Membership will be from 1st April of the year at which the membership is sought until 31st March of the next year.

Privileges offered to the Members:
Any Individual Life Member or Principle Nominee of the Corporate Member can –

• Attend General Body Meetings

• Get elected to the Managing Council

• Attend National Convention and Seminars or participate in various SOPEP Events at concessional participation fees or discounted delegate fees, as applicable. (Please note that the Corporate Members may nominate any numbers of delegates in the National Convention and Seminars at the discounted delegate fees decided by the Managing Council from time to time)

• Become an empanelled trainer, speaker or consultant of SOPEP

• To receive copies of the publication of the Society either free of cost or on such terms of payments as the council may decide from time to time.

• To serve on the various committees appointed by the Council.

Termination of Membership:
Membership shall be discontinued –

• On account of Death or insanity of the member or the Resignation of the member

• Corporate Members can change their Principle or Alternate Nominee any time during their membership. However, such change will be effective only after the approval during the Managing Committee Meeting.

• If the member indulges in illegal matters considered against the social objectives of the Society
